Database User and Administrator in DBMS

Role of Database user in DBMS

Through applications and interfaces offered by the Database Management System (DBMS), database users can access the database and obtain data from it.
Based on how they interact with the databases, database users in DBMS can be divided into different categories. The following seven categories can be used to group database users based on the tasks they complete on the databases:

1. Data Administrators (DBA)

2. Database Designers

3. System Analysts

4. Application Programmers

5. Naive Users

6. Sophisticated Users

7. Temporary Users

Role of Database Administrator in DBMS

In DBMSs, the most significant category of database users are database administrators (DBAs). The person or group of users who creates the database schema and manages the several database levels inside the company is known as the database administrator.

Super-users of the database are sometimes referred to as database administrators (DBAs), who have complete power over the database. Together with developers, they debate and design the database's entire structure, including its layouts, features, workflow, etc.

All other users can have their authorization permissions granted or revoked at any time by database administrators (DBAs). When necessary, DBAs must give all other users their login information (password and account ID) in order for them to access the database. By preventing unauthorized users from accessing the database, database administrators (DBAs) are exclusively in charge of ensuring database security.

All of the privileges permitted by the DBMS are available to database administrators (DBAs). In order to satisfy future requirements and prepare the database for future scope, they must promptly update the database in terms of technology, functionality, and process.

Database administrators are also in charge of keeping an eye on the databases' regular maintenance, hardware and software installation needs, data consistency, data redundancy, and data integrity. They also have to deal with data loss, which can be brought on by mistakes or even system malfunctions.

Database administrators (DBAs) also oversee the backup and recovery of database records and offer technical assistance. DBAs must address any concerns brought up by the technical team.
